Katie Hindle is an artist, associate lecturer and researcher at Goldsmiths, University of London. She teaches Foundation Art and Design at the Newcastle Upon Tyne studios of Northumberland College, and is co-director of arts organisation Freedman Arts. Recent projects include the creation and delivery of Contemporary Art School, an innovative short course drawing on the BALTIC Centre of Contemporary Art archives, run in conjunction with BALTIC and Northumberland College. Her art work explores femininity, identity and the ways in which we relate to the physical and material world through the imaginary and particularly, visual culture. Recent exhibitions include the Photomediations online and physical exhibition launched at Hamburger Bahnhof, Museum fur Gegenwart, Berlin. Her research focuses on visual communication in fashion and the ways in which it has developed in the era of digital technology.
