Some images I made for the Photomediations project, a collaboration between the editors of Photomediations: An Open book (www.photomediations.net) and Europeana Space Best Practice Network. Millions of images from across Europe's galleries. museums and archives are available in the online Europeana repository (many without copyright restrictions). My use of this resource draws comparisons between online clothing archives, the archives of museums that document clothing and the commercial website Ebay, which itself is an active continually updated archive of clothing. The photographs from the museum archives were matched with images that I had taken over the last couple of years to sell clothing on Ebay, and the text that accompanied both sets of images reproduced verbatim. Through doing so I explore the connections between the archives, not only between the ways in which clothing is photographed in a documentary context, but also between the items of clothing themselves, demonstrating the continuity and repetitions across representation, form and time.
